Tucson-based interdisciplinary artist Tom Reihart provokes conversation and critique while exploring themes of identity, masculinity and value. Guided by an interest in how capitalism has informed the way we see value in-both the products we consume and ourselves-his diverse practice encompasses moldmaking, casting, sculpting, carving, sewing, drawing, assemblage, and collage. Through his work, Reihart examines the intersection of self and material, the complexities of masculinity, and the ways in which value is perceived. A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art with a BFA in sculpture and expanded media, this marks his first solo exhibition.
